PJ Fleck
- Learned a lot from the past loss. We've learned a lot and responded really well in practice.
- Very familiar with Dantonio being in the same state as him.
- Not surprised at all that Michigan State beat Michigan. They've won like 8 of the last 10.
- Wanted to use a rugby punt going into the wind against Purdue. Just didn't punt it far enough into the middle of the field.
- Rhoda is the best QB we have right now. Wouldn't have won three games without Conor Rhoda. Have to remember he's only played six games. He's done a lot of positive things for the football team and community. He's the leader of this football team.
- There's going to have to be other moving pieces along the offensive line.
- Richardson is playing at a high level right now. Nice to have that anchor in the middle.
- Michigan State is opportunistic on defense and have an added element on offense with the QB being able to run. They're tough on special teams.
- Dantonio is very selfless. Signing up for an away game at Western Michigan is the largest attendance WMU has had. He saw the big picture and what it could do for the state of Michigan.
- Huge deal to not pull redshirts but not pulling any redshirts is not fair to Steven Richardson or Conor Rhoda. There's a group that's ready to play and that's why their redshirt is coming off and there's another group that's not ready to play that needs to. You don't want the latter type of redshirts to come off.
- Switching positions for depth is the last resort. Don't want to do it.
- Getting not so positive mail but the thing he loves about it is the passionate fanbase.
- Saying "we gotta finish" is not going to get the players to finish. There are many facets to finishing games.
- Anything can happen at night games. In the MAC, you play night games all the time but now there's an anticipation to it.
- After Conor Rhoda, the quarterback position is up in the air. You can put an "or" after any of them. Would need to make a decision about who plays if Rhoda goes down.
- The Purdue loss wasn't necessarily more impactful to the team than any other team. We didn't like the effort we gave against Maryland. Thought we gave more effort against Purdue. That was a positive takeaway but we obviously don't like the result.
- The win last year against Maryland helped instill confidence in the team. His leadership more developed in winning the backup job than now. His leadership evolves day by day.
- MSU is experienced. They're great at what they do. They're not like a lot of teams that try and disguise what they do and throw you weird looks.
- The time's running out to continue to have learning experiences. Need to fail to grow.
- Bowl eligibility is not a focus. We're 0-0 in the Michigan State week.
- Phillip Howard has grown a lot since he's been here. He was starting to turn the corner and can be special when he plays fast.
- Just got the wind knocked out him against Purdue.
- Dealing with three coaches in three years has been difficult but it allows you to learn about change. After graduation, change will be the only constant.
- Playing under the lights against a ranked opponent is awesome, but we won't let a circumstance dictate our behavior.
