Byron Buxton looks to have all the talent in the world when it comes to defense... He can flat out fly, has a strong arm, positions himself well and can outrun just about any ball in left center or right centerfield. When he gets on base, anything that is extra base hits while he is on, he will score.. But that batting average is horrendous.
He just looks to have no confidence at the plate.. If it seems he is overmatched at the plate, he seems satisfied if he strikes out...He has had a few stretches in his career that he seemed to figure it out at the plate but he just seems to have a mental block that has predetermined he isn't going to get a hit.. It would be a shame to have all that talent and hit as a below average major league hitter for his career.... I know the subject of injury will come up but he has never really shown the confidence of a major league hitter, even when healthy.. What say you??
