This era was needed in MN, badly. Although this group of coaches seem to have a high floor and lower ceiling they were blue collar workers who only knew how to build from the ground up and did that in an admirable way. They gave us an identity of running the ball and playing defense which is something we should NEVER take for granted around these parts.

Things didn't end as well as they started for obvious reasons but they got us to beat the bottom feeders and compete with the better teams. They have passed on the torch to Fleck and it will now be his job to continue this programs growth starting with beating Wisconsin. Our neighbors to the east have had one of the more consistent and successful programs out of any football team in the country for a while now and have OWNED US for a decade and change. This is something that NEEDS TO CHANGE! I hope to see Fleck get us on this level sooner rather than later.

Once we can beat Wisconsin, we can begin to think bigger but until then, this is a top priority for me and I hope Fleck as well. This is something the Kill/Claeys era couldn't accomplish or get over the hump with and I am a believer it is something that Fleck can get done. Once you begin to beat Wisconsin, that is when we know we have gotten to the next level.

So thank you to Jerry Kill, Tracey Claeys and the entire old staff as they laid a solid foundation to this program that can't be taken for granted. Fleck, its now time for you to reach that next step. Let's get it done.
