The following represent my totally subjective and uninformed analysis. Looking forward to seeing other posters' insights:
Teams that played power conference opponents (MI/FL, MD/TX, RUT/WASH, PUR/Louisville and OSU/IN).
Teams that played MAC schools (MN/Buffalo, IL/Ball State, MSU/Bowing Green and PSU/Akron).
Teams that played Western/Moutain West schools (IA/WY, NW/NV and WI/Utah State).
Other (NE/Arkansas State).
1. MD 51 at TX 41. Win came on the road against a top 25 team.
2. MI 33 (semi-neutral site) FL 17. Despite 10 FL suspensions, MI beat a great defensive team.
3. OSU 49 at IN 21. OSU impressive and unleased possibly the best FR RB in the country.
4. PSU 52 and Akron 0. What more can one say?
5. WI 59 and Utah State 10. See PSU comment.
6. MSU 35 and Bowing Green 10. Solid MSU performances on both sides of the ball.
7. PUR 28 and Louisville 35. PUR has more players than one would have thought and a much better head coach.
8. IA 24 and WY 3. Stellar defensive performance against top QB.
9. IN 21 and OSU 49. Respectable performance against a great team.
10. NW 31 and NV 10. Great QB play from NW play-caller.
11. MN 17 and Buffalo 7. Stellar defense but generally poor opponent.
12. IL 24 and Ball State 21. A win is a win.
13. RUT 14 and WA 30. Should have perhaps rated RUT higher against a great team but am still miffed at Kill's recent attitudes toward MN.
14. NE 43 and Ark/St 36. NE gave up 415 passing yards to weak team at home. Why was Mike Riley every hired by the Cornhuskers?
