"Gadiva 'Diva' Hubbard is a multipurpose, skilled guard who makes plays when it counts most. As her skills matured, the more explosive she became. Hubbard has a strong basketball body that when penetrating enable her to absorb contact and on many occasions over powering smaller point guards. Known for her scoring, she is also known as a “stat stuffer”. She displays a great amount of confidence in her ability to shoot, thus allowing her to knock down big shots. However, she is not just a shooter; she is also effective in finding gaps in the defense to attack. Gadiva has already scored 1000 high school points and is on her way to 2000. As a well-rounded ball handler, Diva is extremely comfortable with the ball in her hands and is also able to pass the ball up the floor in a hurry, leading to early offense. Hubbard is excellent at keeping her composure when playing in various situations and is very coachable. She is a well-rounded scorer and clearly one of the most skilled offensive players in the state of VA. During her sophomore season she average 21 points per game and was awarded Player of the Year for the “757” (Hampton Roads, VA). Gadiva was the only under classman named to the 2014 USA Today All-State Team. She is also currently holding the record at 35 points for the most points scored in a VA state Championship game.
