I can confirm that Monticello (Minn.) offensive lineman Conner Olson (Junior highlights) has committed to Minnesota after taking an unofficial visit to campus with his parents this afternoon.
Olson is the seventh commitment for the 2016 class so far and the third offensive lineman. He gives the Gophers six in-state commitments as well.
Olson did extremely well at camp last summer, testing very well including a 9' broad jump and dominated the board drill at only 240 pounds. Now that Olson is 270 pounds, Coach Limegrover and staff thought they couldn't pass on an in-state recruit as strong and as athletic as Olson, so they extended the offer on Sunday.
This Olson commitment leaves one spot left on the offensive line for this class.
