The one thing you can say about our young Gophers ladies hoops team is they can shoot free throws. Clutch free throws to get it to double OT where they beat Penn State 98-96 when it looked like Minnesota would lose this game a few times. I LOVE THE FRESHMEN. Mara Braun has star written all over her and Amaya Battle as well as Mallory Heyer are awesome in their own right.. Borowicz is a small guard and she is a redshirt freshman as well, who played great tonight.
Dont get me wrong. This team needs to learn to play defense much better, be more selective in shots, rebound and communicate better but they are fun to watch. Those 4 freshman will add Holloway back next year plus some size. Lindsay went small towards the end of the game and I think that actually helped at the end. LOTS OF POTENTIAL ON THE FLOOR FOR THE GOPHERS!!! Good victory to start the Big Ten season for this young team.
