What is going on in Ann Arbor??

They lost 4 4-star commits.. 2 were in trouble. Another pissed off because his name was misspelled on a document. One opened his recruiting up for the 2018 class... Another is transferring.. Kicker, Andrew David is transferring to TCU to play football and baseball. Transfers happen everywhere but these are some high rated kids. Don't feel a bit bad but wondering what is going on in Ann Arbor... Either Harbaugh is recruiting the wrong guys in the first place or not a great environment once they get there.. Possibly kids whose families or themselves are way too sensitive. Something is weird there.

In typical Michigan fashion, they are staying tight lipped about the situations to the press.. Which is smart. There seems to be this attitude by their fanbase that once the recruits put on the maize and blue uniform that they become upstanding citizens.. With the Notre Dame situations recently, it just shows that these programs are recruiting the same kids that every other big name school is doing. The recruits don't instantly become angels when they get on campus in South Bend and Ann Arbor. Those schools have been tight lipped about circumstances, on and off the field. With a more ravenous press and social media, this stuff comes out more readily in real time, in today's world, so damage control is much more difficult. I think Michigan and Notre Dame will never have problems getting recruits at a high level but these are 'chinks in the armor' that you NEVER would have heard about, years ago. Just interesting as Michigan fans and Notre Dame fans have given Ohio State a ton of guff about this and it may be a situation of "what goes around, comes around".

Your Official 2016 Gophers Volleyball Preview

Your beautiful 2016 Minnesota Golden Gophers Volleyball team kick off their season tomorrow in Palo Alto, CA against the University of San Diego followed on Sunday against a match against Stanford. The Preseason Top 25 poll has our Lady Gophers ranked #3 in the country! Following a loss in the Final Four last year to Texas, there is a sense of feeling around the team this year that it is National Title or bust.

The Big 10 is by far the strongest and most competitive volleyball conference in the country, and Hugh McCutcheon made sure his team will be ready for the grind of the conference season by scheduling a brutal non conference slate. They will take on #11 Stanford, #16 Texas A&M, #17 Florida State, #19 North Carolina, and #23 Louisville before they kick off a Big 10 schedule that includes #1 Nebraska, #4 Wisconsin, #9 Penn State, #14 Illinois, #15 Ohio State, and #20 Purdue.

Our Lady Gophers were picked to finish 2nd in the preseason media rankings, only behind 2015 National Champion Nebraska. They will be bringing back everyone from their Final Four team from a year ago except for one player. However, that one player might have been the best player in the country last year in Daly Santana, so a couple players will have to step up to fill those huge shoes.

Hannah and Paige Tapp will lead the way. The senior twins were both All Americans last year and will be hoping to bring a National Title to Dinkytown. Fellow Seniors Sarah Wilhite and Molly Lohman also bring a ton of experience and talent to the starting lineup. Setter Samantha Seliger Swenson was the Big 10 Freshman of the Year last year and will look to set the team to this year's Final Four in Columbus. Dalianliz Rosado will be the favorite for Libero of the Year. Alyssa Goehner and Katie Schau will bring the hustle and tenacity that Hugh loves.

So get out to the Pav this fall and support your Lady Gophers! If that preview won't convince you, this ought to do the trick!

Ben Utecht Book

Mt kid is a freshman at Eagan and is playing football. All Eagan coaches are trained on concussion awareness. Baseline testing is available for all youth football and mandatory for all on high school squad. If a player is diagnosed with a concussion, they cannot play until cleared by doctor. Then Eagan holds the player out an additional week before they can play. Eagan is raising a lot of $$ for top notch helmets. The culture has changed hugely for protection since my oldest son started 3rd grade tackle football 9 years ago.
That is awesome

BJ Autry update

There's new life with Autry fellas. I spoke with someone late last night who said not to be surprised if Autry is a Gopher soon. Great news. The Gophers' offensive quality control coach William Peagler coached Autry at Coffeyville, and I think that has come in big.

This is something that is really being played close to the vest, so I'm not sure of all the details, and this is not yet a certainty. I'll keep you posted as I hear more.

Touch screen TV

I will go to Google but first want to see if anybody here knows anything?

Are Hockey Association wants to do a touch screen TV at one of the rinks and have tons of pre downloaded videos almost like you see in the U of M hall of fame or you can touch the screen and watch a video on the little brown jug for example

Anyone have a clue where I would start?
