In the next few days we will find out

1) If the Gophers can reel in either of these JUCO guys. I hope they get both of them, particularly Autry.

2) What's up with QB recruiting: Will we steal Mansell from Under Captain Kirk's nose? Will the staff go all in on getting Fields here? Will they do what I want them to do, and try to bring in both Mansell and Fields?

3) Will there be another random commit since I have this totally irrational idea that it's gonna happen?

I. CAN'T. STOP. REFRESHING.

This is about as exciting as June recruiting gets. I'm effin' jacked, baby!

"The New Big 3" Update

McKinley Wright: At Iowa State right now and they are the biggest contender. McKinley likes the coaches and the excitement of the program a lot. Likes Minnesota too. I think they are the leaders and I would guess MN overall but Iowa State is right there I'm told.

Jericho Sims. Also at Iowa St right now but I'm told that the team that would give the Minnesota the biggest fight is Texas because of Shaka Smart. Maybe ISU jumps in but I'm told MN and TX are top.

Theo John. He's really getting after recruiting right now. Minnesota visit in two weeks, setting up visits for IL and Marquette this summer. Those are top three I've heard in terms of who is after him and who he is willing to visit but Florida and Purdue just offered so maybe they come in. Looks like Oklahoma and him have kind of parted, we will know more if Theo is still open in July and if they are watching. I think Theo could be the first to decide out of these guys as he has been hearing from most of these schools longer.

Also, I would say based on what I know the top five guys they are after right now are these three, Isaiah Washington, and Terrance Lewis. It will be easier to know more come July but this is what I've heard.

J Robinson camps moved to Wisconsin-River Falls

Still no news on the JRob - Xanax situation. Hopefully we hear something soon and the damage is minimal.

Because J is on administrative leave, he can't be on campus. So he had to move his summer wrestling camps away from the U to UW-River Falls. Here's the announcement on the move from Intermat:

J Robinson Intensive Camps -- one of the longest-running, most respected summer wrestling camp organizations in the nation -- which were originally scheduled to take place at the University of Minnesota campus have been relocated to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, KMSP/Fox 9 reported Friday.

Minnesota head wrestling coach J Robinson, who has been on administrative leave since June 1, was told by new Gophers athletics director Mark Coyle "you are not to be on campus."

The school is investigating allegations that some Minnesota wrestlers may have been using and/or selling Xanax, a prescription anti-anxiety drug.

Here's how J Robinson Camps announced the move on its Facebook page Friday:

"J Robinson Camps will be moving all 2016 Minnesota camps to the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. This includes the 28-Day Intensive Camp, 5-Day Technique Camp, 5-Day Competition Camp, and 10-Day Combo Camp. The new location will not impact anything with respect to the camp daily schedule, training regimen, and our staunch commitment to excellence. All attendees flying to camp will still be picked up at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport."

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls campus is located about 40 miles east of the University of Minnesota.

According to a fact sheet at the official website for J Robinson Camps, over 40,000 wrestlers have participated in the camps since they were first established in 1978. In addition to camps held on the Minnesota campus, other J Rob camps are slated to continue to be conducted this year at locations in California, Georgia, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington State.

Back on Board

I am happy to report that I purchased football season tickets again today. I had them a few years ago and gave them up due to my kid playing football on Saturdays. He's now in HS so games are no longer on Saturdays! I decided to support the University and bought tickets in Zone 1. I can use 80% of the donation as a tax write-off so I decided to give it a whirl. I'm excited to be back at the bank in person. I love football and really want to see the Gophers turn the corner. Here's to a great season and memorable Saturday game day experiences!

Orlando Shooting

seems to be little coverage on the Muslim murdering 50 people, at least in comparison to the murders in Paris awhile back. Is this the gov't trying to make us think we are safe and they have those damn idiots under control? I just cannot fathom the intolerance from these idiots. I'm not in favor of the LGBT movement, but I don't care as long as you leave me alone and abide by the rules I have too.

Scary stuff going on in this country

I don't like Trump and will not vote for him, but I gotta tell you it is extremely alarming about the leftist protesters at his rallies. This is the exact tactic that the Nazi's used in the 30's. Show up at opponents rallies and use violence and intimidation against those that don't agree with you.

Strange that the protesters assault people and attempt to silence those who disagree with them and use the excuse that Trump is a Fascist. Any halfway intelligent person in this nation would realize that fascism in this country is on the rise, but it is coming from the left and coming fast.

Tickets sold

I'm the ticket nerd around here, and have been tracking the seats sold for years.

In the history of TCF Bank Stadium, our tickets sold going into a season have NEVER come close to being as bad as this season. If you click around the seating chart, and know which tickets are being held in blocks, you can estimate they've only sold about half the stadium. They've sold about 25k total of tickets. They'll sell some through pick your pack, and some individual games, probably go with livingsocial discount seats, and come down in price, but even with all of that, I honestly think our average attendance this fall will be close to 40k, after averaging over 50k last year.

Its a shame we've lost folks with the donation requirements, but hope overall it helps the school. The sheriff has a big decision in what he plans to do with the 3rd year donation next fall.
