The great April snowstorm of 2018 has made its impact felt on the Minnesota basketball program. Trey McGowens was scheduled to be on campus earlier this weekend for his official visit, but due to weather related travel delays, he will land in the Twin Cities tonight at 10:00 P.M.

Multiple national recruiting analysts have told us that one of the worst kept secrets going is that he will reclassify from 2019 to 2018. With the need for another ball handler next season, this is a critical visit. McGowens is basically the last recruit standing in the class that is still considering the Gophers. The quality is there as well, seeing that he is a Top 150 player.

The staff certainly hopes that the weather doesn't put a sour taste in his mouth in regards to considering Minnesota.

Payton Willis, a sophomore shooting guard, who has gained his release from Vanderbilt will be taking his official visit to Minnesota on Thursday.

Finally, we have heard from sources that Richard Pitino will have three to four candidates in to interview for the assistant coach's spot that was vacated when Ben Johnson left for Xavier.

Louisiana Tech assistant, Tony Skinn, was reportedly supposed to come in for an interview, but had weather delays as well. We aren't sure if that will be rescheduled. There have been reports that he will join Josh Pastner's staff at Georgia Tech. We will keep an eye on that one.

Whoever is hired, expect the process to conclude within the next 7-14 days.
