OL- SAME and potentially better
Lose Epping and Tommy Olson
Add Christensen and Bobek
Return Lauer, Campion, Bjorklund, Bush, Hayes and Pirsig with tons of experience
Add in Connor Mayes with minor experience and big upside

RB- Worse but maybe not as big a drop as you would think
Lose David Cobb the work horse
Add Edwards, Smith and Brooks
Return Williams who looks to take the work horse role

QB- Better but only slightly
Mitch another year of experience
Strev, Perra and fast rising Croft

TE- Worse
Lose Maxx which is huge
Add Wozniak, Duke, Gibson and Scarver
Return Plesek
This will be a group effort to replace Max.

WR- Better

Return Maye and Wolitarsky as your top two
Add Jones, Holland, Gentry, Gant, Carter, Smith and potentially more
The depth and potential has taken a HUGE step up. Time will tell how good they can be

DE- Better
Return Cockran, Ekpe, Elmore and Keith and all look to have big years
This could be a very good group

DT- Better
Lose- Botticelli
Return Richardson, Stetler, Moore and Ndondo-Lay
Add a healthy Scott Ekpe
Richardson on the verge of being a star

LB- Better
Lose Wilson and Laster
Gain Poock, Huff
Return Lynn, Campbell, Williams, Celestin
Its hard to lose Damian Wilson and get better but I think they Gophers will do just that with the emergence of the other guys improving.

S- Same
Lose Thompson
Return Travis, Johnson, McGhee
Add Ace Rogers

CB- Better
Return BBC, Murray, Myrick and James
Add in Hardin
Best group in the Big Ten

K- Better
P- Better
KR- Better
PR- Better
Kick coverage- Better


It comes down to the QB and WR's being better to offset the losses at RB and TE. We should be pretty good just about everywhere else. We don't have to throw for 300 yards a game but rather make more BIG plays in the passing game to punish teams for stacking up vs. the run. Mitch needs to continue to run the football himself to be effective and we can't be too conservative there.

I think the defense has a chance to be special. TCU is a mega test out of the gate.
