The BTN guys shared about Iowa and Nebraska:

Dinardo and Howard Griffith are extremely high on the Cornhuskers. Said that Nebraska is bigger and more athletic than Illinois or Iowa (the other two schools they've visited thus far). They believe that Nebraska's roster can be compared to Ohio State and Sparty.

Griffth and Dinardo are particularly high on the Huskers in 3 areas:

1) They think the D will be much better this year. Dinardo went so far as to say that the Husker D would eliminate the big plays that have haunted them the past several years.

2) Griffith and Dinardo think the Huskers have fantastic options at the offensive skill positions, particularly WR and RB.

3) Nebraska's got a huge OLine, and a 'potentially dominant DLine'.

Dave Revsine noted that Tommy Armstrong was not particularly sharp; In one 11-11 sequence TA threw 2 interceptions in 4 plays. Revsine noted that there were several other dropped interceptions. Dinardo thinks Reilly is gonna help TA by running a lot of concepts and formations that Nebraska ran under Pellini. The BTN guys think Nebraska will run the ball a lot on 1st and 10 since Armstrong isn't always efficient. Mike Reilly said that if there is an open receiver and a clean pocket, that his QB needs to complete a pass.

The accolades are mixed on Iowa. Dinardo and Griffith really like the Hawkeyes back 7: the secondary is solid and the LBs look improved. Dinardo is concerned about Iowa's DLine; said they are undersized compared to what Iowa usually has upfront.

Dinardo believes that Iowa can beat anybody on its schedule, but said they will have to play efficiently to make up for the lack of playmakers. The guys like Beathard at QB, but are concerned about whether he's got receivers and running backs who can make plays (sound familiar?). Guys seemed non-committal on Iowa's OLine. Dinardo said that Iowa has a razor thin margin of error.

Dinardo and Griffith are really high on Illinois: said it's the first time the Illini have 'really looked like a Big Ten team' under Beckman. Guys think that Wes Lunt is a real weapon and that the Illini will be able to throw for a lot of yards. Guys like starting RB/scatback Josh Ferguson, but are concerned about depth behind him. Said Illinois has really good athletes on the DLine and will be better this year than they were last year.

I was surprised at how down on they are on Iowa. They kept saying that Iowa could beat anybody on the schedule, but Dinardo seemed shocked by how bare the cupboard seems upfront.
