SPEARMINT RHINO OPENING
An adult entertainment operator with global reach is coming to downtown Minneapolis.
Norco, Calif.-based Spearmint Rhino Consulting Worldwide Inc. owns clubs in the U.S., the United Kingdom and Australia.
It will soon have one more, Spearmint Rhino Gentlemen's Club, a three-level strip club at 725 Hennepin Ave., said Cristina Kabanuk,
manager at landlord BTN Properties. BTN also owns and operates the
Skyway Theatre, Maruso Street Food & Cocktails and BarFly.

BIG RICK'S EXPANDING
The Texas-based owner of strip club Rick's Cabaret has a deal to buy downtown Minneapolis competitor The Seville Club. Houston-based RCI Hospitality Holdings Inc. said two subsidiaries will pay $8.5 million for the strip club: $4.5 million for the business and $4 million for the historic, renovated three-story building at 15 Glenwood Ave.
The buyer did not say when the deal is expect to close or what changes to operations or management are planned. A spokesperson said RCI Hospitality will release more details soon. Owner Dino Perlman opened the club in 2004. He could not be reached for more information.
Located across Seventh Street from the Target Center and a block away from Target Field, the club features topless female dancers, alcohol, cigars and a menu spanning from steaks to sandwiches to tater tots. Rick's purchased another Minneapolis competitor, Schiek's Palace Royale (now Downtown Cabaret) for about $6 million in 2011.
Rick's Cabaret Minneapolis and Downtown Cabaret are two of RCI Hospitality's best revenue generators, RCI CEO Eric Langan said in a news release touting Seville's "seasoned local management team." "The Seville Club expands our presence in the attractive Minneapolis market, enabling us to own three of the top locations," he said. "The Seville Club has been successful for more than a decade. ... It attracts gorgeous entertainers." Formerly Rick's Cabaret International Inc., RCI Hospitality (Nasdaq: RICK) has 45 gentlemen's clubs and sports bars across the country.
