Strengths: size, zone coverage abilities, ball skills, physicality

Weaknesses: man coverage

TJ Robinson is a 6’2”, 190-pound safety from Riverview, FL. He previously held offers from Cincinnati, Louisville, Iowa State, and was committed to South Florida. His tape shows him lining up at both safety and cornerback, however I think he’ll be a better fit at safety at the college level.

I really like what I see from TJ on tape. He has great size at 6’2” for a safety and does a very nice job in zone coverage. Also seeing time at receiver, he has soft hands and high points the ball without double catching it. Looks very natural in his ability to do so. Robinson does a great job of coming downhill and taking on would-be blockers with his large frame.

Most of his clips at cornerback show him sinking in Cover 3 on fades (probably end of game situations) so there is something to be desired in his ability to cover man-to-man as that is a bit of an unknown at this point in time.

I like TJ’s tape and think he’ll be a solid player for the Gophers down the road.
