There’s been talk of moving him back to linebacker so he’s not an undersized DE but his burst of speed can’t be taught coming off the edge. Even Myers commented on what a great rush he provided. Fleck said during camp that Coughlin plays much better on the line than out in space. If I’m Coughlin I’d concentrate on this position as I feel it’s his ticket to the pros. Maybe the mods could highlight this week if the Gophers are selling out for the run or just bad reads by our Lbs. I’m especially surprised in this game that they weren’t more aware of their passing responsibilities as the Ohio State lineman were showing pass blocking but our LBs weren’t getting their drops. Next week will be a different challenge as Martinez is so athletic. Hopefully our line play stays consistent and we dominate upfront.
