Sidney has a nugget on our football season ticket renewal: 20,673 season tickets sold with an 86% renewal rate.

For reference, around this time last year Greder reported 22,359 and attributed 1000 new season tickets to the Fleck hire.

Shama weighed in last July with the the mixed news that renewal percentage increased but we actually netted less total tickets sold - in other words, we slowed the decline.

Assuming our local scribes have accurately captured the data:

2015: 27,885
2016: 23,494 (79.4% renewal)
2017: 22,359 (87.7% renewal)
2018: 20,673 (86% renewal)

Season ticket activity since 2015: Decrease of nearly 26% in our season ticket holder base which has fallen in each consecutive year.

Assumed factors impacting this include the ticket price increase, transition from Kill/Claeys/Fleck, evolving demographic/sporting public preferences.

To lose a quarter of our season ticket base in a four-year period where we halted the increase, brought in our ADs top choice for football HC - is concerning and frankly surprising given the optimism around Fleck and the well-earned recognition of his commitment to community and outreach.

I hope we've hit bottom and that the 2018 season piques interest and begins the restoration of our fan base.
