Typing it on this format is the best I can do.. Got lots of things about Minnesota I would love your opinion, when it comes to recruiting and composing a team. I really wish I could discuss it with RIchard Pitino, just so I could get where he is at, on my questions. Since that is not going to happen, I will type out a few for you to think about.

FIRST, I remember you SPECULATING on the commitments that the Gophers might get.. I dont question your speculation one bit but I do question how we are going to put this team together, if your speculation is right..

We need guys that can fill the nets from the outside, no doubt... We need guys that can score, period!! I guess I question the logic of Jamal Mashburn Jr, if he were to want to commit... He is an awfully small SG.. Our 3 other SGs aren't real short as Gabe Kalscheur is in that 6-3, 6-4 range.. I am guessing Payton Willis is about the same, and Tre Williams is 6-4, 6-5.. Unless Mashburn can fill the nets better than the others, I am not seeing a lot of logic in recruiting him... Jalen Suggs is a bit bigger and stronger build so if we went to a 3 guard attack, he could almost defend a smaller 3.. No way in the case of Mashburn.. Now I know that Minnesota may not get Suggs but to me, there is a rationale in recruiting Suggs even though MINNESOTA HAS 5 GUARDS ON THE TEAM ALREADY!!! I am not sure I see the same rationale in recruiting a small SG like Mashburn...He has to defend someone as well as be able to score so that would be my hesitation at his size!!

Suggs can play the point and is big enough to handle the bigger PGs around the country. However, I EVEN QUESTION THE RATIONALE OF RECRUITING A GUARD IN THE 2020 CLASS AT ALL, in some ways. Greenlee sounds like he could be a solid player.. If we were to think of moving Carr to SG at times, and maybe bring in another PG, I hope it is one of the bigger guys at point, maybe ones that are 6-2, 6-3 on up.

I AM ALL FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF THE 2020 BIGS.. I think we(Gophers) will take 2 in the 2020 class... The 4 players I like the most to pick from is Dawson Garcia, Steve Crowl, Max Murrell, and Jakobe Coles.. I would take any 2 from that group.. I hope I am wrong but I wonder how much basketball Eric Curry has left.. Maybe a lot?? Maybe he needs to hang up the sneakers?? The more I read about Coles, the more I like his game and what he could do for the Gophers.. I think that type of physicality would be good for Minnesota to have on the team.

AT WING FORWARD, this is always a sore area on how I view RIchard P.'s recruiting.. I am a fan of how John Beilein recruited at Michigan.. He got a lot of those 6-5 to 6-7 guys at the 2 and 3 positions.. Not only that, but these guys were versatile enough to slide to the 4, at times.. I wished we would have a handful of productive guys in that height range that are skilled and long. Why do you think Richard struggles so much to get guys in that size range?? I understand he got Ihnen and had Amir Coffey, which is good. But I feel we need to have about 3-4 guys on our team like that, every year. WE ARE GOING TO MISS AMIR A LOT JUST LIKE WE WILL MISS JORDAN MURPHY!!! That length, size, and athleticism is hard to duplicate.

I look for flexibility when we get those long wings... DO YOU THINK THAT GABE MADSEN and KERWIN WALTON can defend most 3's at the D1 level?? If they can and we were to be in a situation to choose, I would take 2 bigs with 2 of the guys like Madsen and Walton.. Maybe put off recruiting a guard in this class. I am guessing the thought is to only take one but I would love to get these guys or maybe the Gordon kid or the Darius Maddox kid.. I would love to see us get 2 taller wings as that would increase our flexibility on the defensive end, if they are good defenders.
