Good news and bad news...

Good:

We just won a game with basically our 4th and 5th string running backs. (If you count Brooks on the depth chart.) Neither was spectacular but both were productive at times and didn't hurt us.

Our SECOND unit at WR is CAB, Howard and Green. This is a better group than our STARTING three from much of last year. What a difference a year makes.

Bad/scary:

After our 4 guys who play a lot (Smith, Shenault, Thomas, Durr) we have basically no CBs with any game experience. When it looked like Coney got dinged against Fresno I started to freak out.

Our starting O-line played all the snaps. Our listed backups at 2 spots are guys we are trying to redshirt. If anyone goes down we are playing Oseland, Dovich or Schmitz, and they all need more game reps.

We have a couple of guys where there is a huge dropoff between starter and backup. I am thinking mainly of Winfield and Cashman. It's great that those starters are so productive but if they go down it's really going to show.

Just food for thought...
