For those that like to evaluate based upon offers

As some of you know, I am much more of an offers guy than a rivals rating guy and so I like to compare the offers from the classes. I have done similar evaluations of past classes , and thought I'd share what I've done so far this year.

First my re-ranking criteria on offers is based upon the following guidelines:

1) 5.5- has at least one other P5* offer (*or equivalent as I consider teams like Boise St. and Houston as currently equivalent to a P5)
2) 5.6- has at least 4 other P5 offers
3) 5.7- 5+ P5 offers (I figure a guy that is wanted by that many P5 schools should at least be a high 3 star recruit.
4) 5.8- 5+ P5 offers + at least one helmet school offer (obviously some subjectivity in that definition but try to limit it to the schools that carry some extra weight)
5) 5.9- 5+ P5 offers + 3+ helmet schools
6) 6.0 - unlimited helmet schools

Now my disclaimers for the critics:

1) I recognize that not all offers listed may be accurate; 2) I recognize that not all offers listed are currently commitable (ie. may have had an early helmet school offer that has filled up); 3) I recognize that sometimes kids don't publish or announce later offers; 4) I recognize that this doesn't account much for early commits from local schools that likely would have received more offers; 5) This probably doesn't account for a coach like Fleck who received many early verbals from regional commits where I suspect many P5 coaches didn't attempt to poach his verbals at least publicly.

While this is an inexact re-rank, I personally think it is more accurate than the actual rivals rankings where you find some players too high or too low in comparison to what the coaches see.

General Comments:

*
Very similar classes of 3 and 4 stars for the 5 above
* I didn't do the bottom guys, but Minnesota's offers for the 2 stars are much better in comparison to the 4 other teams above
*Iowa did great at the top, but their bottom has a lot of Schirck offers with no other FBS offers
*Minnesota a little light on top end 3 stars, but has a lot of lower 3 star guys with 1 or 2 P5 offers
