Owens is a 3-for-3 JUCO safety who's from Oklahoma. He was committed to Memphis at one point in high school, then flipped to Kansas State. In high school, he had offers from Iowa State, Kansas, and a handful of Group of 5 schools. He redshirted one year at KSU then committed to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, where Clay Patterson was coaching at the time.

At Northeastern Oklahoma A&M this season, he was a First Team All-American and recorded 92 tackles and three interceptions.

He also has offers from Texas Tech and Southern Miss. As late as yesterday morning, I believe he was all set to visit Texas Tech this weekend, so this was a job well done by Minnesota to get him to visit. I'm also hearing conflicting things on Louisville's interest in him. Louisville has been in contact with him but has just one scholarship left for a safety and several targets who they've shown heavy interest in.
