As you know, I predict that Pitino will succeed but that Claeys will fail.

I base this on very specific things.

BB lineup in 2 years, and how I rate it compared to other Big Ten teams:

G: Mason (sr), Dorsey (jr) - good
SF: Coffey (so) - very good
PF: Murphy (jr) - great
C: Konate/Lynch combo (sr) - adequate to above average
Bench: Fitzgerald (sr), Gilbert, McBrayer (jr) Curry, Hurt (so) - has a chance to be above average

BB lineup in 3 years:

G: Dorsey (sr), McBrayer (sr) - good
SF: Coffey (jr) - great
PF: Murphy (sr) - great
C: Curry (jr), maybe Theo John (so) - hopefully at least average
Bench: Gilbert (sr), Hurt (jr) - good

This assumes no transfers or going pro early. But it also doesn't factor-in any new players (except Theo John).

For all the Pitino critics, do you disagree with my outlook? Do you think I rate these players too highly?

As for Claeys, his new staff, and the football program....I'm just not seeing anything specific that would indicate a turn-around. If I saw 3 or 4 Carter Coughlin type recruits on the D coming in, that would be something. If I saw a stud QB coming in, that would be something. If I saw a real proven hot-shot recruiter coming in, that would be something. If I saw that all of our best players were freshmen and sophomores, that would be something. But I'm not seeing anything specific. There is nothing to suggest that anything will change. Can anyone honestly say there are specific positive changes occurring?
