Minnesota has offered Chicago Simeon wing Talen Horton-Tucker. He's a four-star small forward, ranked No. 104 in the country, and holds 19 high-major offers.

For Mac Irvin Fire in EYBL, he averaged 12.7 points on 43% shooting, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.9 assists. This July, he also played with Team Rose, an Adidas team.

He recently told Rivals that Michigan State, Illinois, Iowa State, and Xavier were the four recruiting him the hardest. All have offered, and I'm told that there's no real leader. I would think Minnesota will need to hope to land an official visit to be truly competitive for him.

Remember, the last spot is going to the best available with preference to a ball handler. Corey Evans wrote recently that he's a point-forward type. In a post-Vic Oladipo camp article, Corey predicted that Horton-Tucker would become the next "positionless darling of college basketball."

Here's what else I've read or been told on Horton-Tucker:

Doug Bucshon from the Illinois site: "Horton-Tucker has a unique game. He can attack off the dribble, knock down jumpers, and battle in the paint...Big bodied wing. Not a great athlete but surprisingly nimble for his size. Really skilled, does his best work the ball in his hands. Score off the dribble and has become a good three point shooter. Nifty moves to finish around the rim but he's not an above the rim guy. Not much of a defender."

Corey Evans: "A prospect that has shown that no ceiling exists when it comes to his development, Talen Horton-Tucker has continued to make major strides both with his body and game. The total package at the small forward position, the top-150 recruit began his story as a lightly recruited regional prospect and now sits with offers from some of the top programs nationwide."

Houston Wilson from MakePlayz: "He can score on all three levels and his size and body helps him to finish well near the basket. He can handle and with his size, he's a force leading the fastbreak."

Louie Vaccher from the Northwestern site: "He's a stud. Versatile, strong, physical. Natural wing player with pretty good range. He'll be a 2 or 3 in college, but he plays everywhere from point to power forward for Simeon."
