Unless Kill is 100% willing to hand him the starting job (which I don't think he is):
Say he comes in during mop up duty (assuming we ever could score enough to have mop up duty) and has a few nice completions in garbage time...fans will extrapolate that to mean he could carve up a B10 starting defense...then there is no turning back and the QB controversy just gets worse and worse in the fans and media's eye.
If Jerry is ready to make the full time change then do it, otherwise I think its best to roll with Mitch and Strevy. No matter how good Croft is or will be, I highly doubt he will be an upgrade as a true frosh, given our subpar OL and WR play.
