If anyone is interested, the Minnesota State High School Basketball Tournament is happening this week. In the first quarterfinal, Champlin Park defeated Chaska on a 28 foot prayer three-pointer to win the game 53-50. Former Gophers target McKinley Wright had 29 points in the win. Champlin Park will play Wayzata in the semi-finals tomorrow night. The Trojans defeated Wisconsin Badgers 2017 commit Nathan Reuvers and Lakeville North by the score of 69-66.
In the third quarterfinal, Maple Grove and Wisconsin 2017 commit Brad Davison dominated Andover from tip to finish. Davison had 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists in the win. They will take on the winner of Cretin-Derham Hall and Apple Valley in the semi-finals tomorrow night. Of course, Cretin has Gophers 2018 commit Daniel Oturu and Apple Valley has Gophers 2018 point guard target Tre Jones.
