Will Tschetter is a guy that I am wondering will stay 4 years at Michigan.. Michigan is recruiting out of this world right now, in basketball, and they have recruited the forward positions, really well... If Tschetter is a stretch 4, he probably has a chance at playing but if he is a 3, I am not sure he will play a lot... Obviously, I am thinking that maybe it will be a too crowded front court at Michigan and that Tschetter might consider coming back home to Minnesota, in time.
Michigan lost Franz Wagner to the NBA, which is going to hurt them initially, IMO.. But they got that Caleb Houstan kid coming in and he was probably the 2nd best player I saw in high school next to Chet Holmgren, this past year. Houstan is 6-7 and very skilled. The top player in 2022 nationally, Emoni Bates, de-committed from Michigan State and he lives just on the other side of the highway from Ann Arbor in Ypsilanti. He could easily commute to Michigan if he wanted. But Bates may be one of those guys that goes directly to G-League and it is interesting that a lot of big name programs have not even bothered to offer him a scholarship, even after hearing he decommitted. Interesting that I thought Bates has the enormous upside but I thought Caleb Houstan looked as good if not better in the half dozen games I saw each player last year. Michigan has the #1 recruiting class in the nation coming in next year and their 2022 class could be just as good if not better.
Anyways, Tschetter must be a pretty good player or Juwan Howard would not have been interested.. He is not going to fill a scholarship just for the sake of it so he must be a pretty good player.. Just wanted to hear from those who have seen him play.
