For all of you Gopher Wrestling fans - the season starts 3 months from today when our Gophers go to Fargo, ND for the Bison Open!!
Yes, we will be a young and inexperienced team. But Gopher Wrestling is an elite program with lots of talented wrestlers and some of them will certainly outperform their expectations. Even in a "down year" they are not to be missed!!!
Now for some other big news on B1G Wrestling:
There were tweets a week ago about Iowa wrestling hosting an outdoor dual meet with a yet unnamed opponent at Kinnick Stadium on Sat. Nov. 24th before the IA - MN football game. Today it was announced that (always powerful) OK State Wrestling will be their competitor in the first "Grapple on the Gridiron" at 11am (CT) before the Hawks 7pm game with the Gophers (BTN).
The Hawkeyes and Cowboys, with a combined 57 national titles (Iowa 23, OSU 34), aim to become the first NCAA wrestling teams to compete in a Division I football stadium in NCAA history and set a new NCAA dual meet attendance record. Iowa is chasing the NCAA dual attendance record currently owned by Penn State (15,996). The Hawkeyes' attendance record of 15,955 (Dec. 6, 2008 vs. Iowa State) stood for five years before the Nittany Lions broke the record against Pitt on Dec. 8, 2013.

Kinnick Stadium has a maximum capacity of 70,585. I wonder how many people they will get???
30,000? 50,000? Full capacity?? What do you think???
