I spoke with four-star Quincy, Ill., RB Jirehl Brock late last night ahead of today's commitment announcement, which is planned for 5pm CT today. He did not tell me his choice - if he did, I wouldn’t be here commenting on it - but he did share a couple interesting things.
Jirehl said he’s not stressing the decision because it’s already been made. In fact, he made it a week ago Wednesday.
Sounds like there will be 4 hats on the table tomorrow. There was a top three of Northwestern, Iowa State and Minnesota last week, but when I asked if it was still those three, Jirehl said Notre Dame was still in the mix as well.
My gut feel coming out of that conversation was Iowa State was the most likely pick, and that seems to jive with the current buzz out there. But again, he did not tell me the choice so I do not know for sure. He is announcing it live from his school, so we'll have the verdict here for you when he does.
