John Groce was fired today as basketball coach at Illinois.. I honestly thought that they were getting closer to getting over the hump... Illinois said nice things about him and I am sure he will land on his feet.. He did a great job coaching at Ohio U.. My guess is he will land at a smaller school.. High energy coach. He came awfully close to getting his Ohio Bobcats to a Final Four run.

I wonder if that will be it for Big Ten coaching firings in basketball for this year..ABSOLUTELY SAFE IN THEIR JOB, IMO, WOULD BE Pitino, Gard, Collins, Painter, Izzo, Beilein, Turgeon... Pikiell at Rutgers is just building, Miles has support at Nebraska, Matta the same at Ohio State.... I would think that Penn State would see their program has a talent upswing with the Philly kids so I would think Chambers is safe for this offseason. McCaffrey has a very young team at Iowa. The only one that could be on the 'chopping block' or may resign could be Tom Crean at Indiana, IMO. What are your thoughts on this??
