I've heard different reasons why NW and MN will win the game. The one that is missing is Mortell is averaging more than 5 yards per punt more than NW's punter (44.1 to 38.9) and that I've never seen a Gopher punter better at pinning the other team inside the 10 yard line.
With the possible weather conditions and a likely low scoring game, I see Mortell being a huge reason the Gophers come home 1-0 in conference play.
