Micah Roane:
Strengths:
· Stout against the run. Strong at point of attack, uses hands really well to get off blocks
· Reads blocks, understands what the offense is trying to do from a blocking scheme perspective and is able to adjust quickly
· Plays with great leverage, especially when ripping or taking on double teams
· “Gets through trash”, even with lots of bodies around he’s able to find football
· Good athlete. Quick off the ball. Plays with power
Weaknesses:
· Pass rushing moves. Not many pass rushing highlights, and of those highlights it only really showed one move
· Leaves his feet when he tackles. Likes to dive
Roane is solid PWO addition for the Gophers. He’s a good athlete that plays the run very well, and shows some athletic promise. He’ll need to work on his pass rushing techniques and learn to not leave his feet when he tackles, but he showed the ability to be a 1st and 2nd down player for the Gophers later in his career.
