So, he's resigned due to the pressure from students.

Got me thinking, what exactly were they asking him to do? What should he have done? You're President of a university system consisting of multiple campuses and over 50,000 students. A couple students make complaints of hate speech directed at them. [Which, I would imagine, unfortunately still occurs occasionally, or more than occasionally, on every big campus]. Did the President not make the requisite (and presumably easy) denouncement of these incidents?

I guess I don't see how a President was either so incompetent that he couldn't just make a statement or have someone address these complaints, and/or if he did, I don't see how it could spin this far out of control where he had to resign.
