According to Rivals, the typical Top 25 football recruiting class has had twenty-three players in it with an average of no five-stars, 12 four-stars and 11 three-stars. The average rank of the players was 3.41 and the school whose classes most resembled such a group of recruits was Notre Dame.
The typical 25th rated class also had an average of twenty-three players with no five-stars, 4 four-stars and 16 three-stars. Its average ranking per player was 3.04 and the school that most resembled this level of recruiting was Mississippi State.
The typical #1 ranked team looked like Alabama because it has almost always been Alabama. Their classes have typically had 26 players with 4 five-stars, 14 four-stars and 5 three-stars for an average 3.87 rank per player.
If Fleck picks up another 13 three-star players, Minnesota has an outside chance of having a Top 25 ranked class this year, although two or more four-star recruits certainly wouldn't hurt things.
