For three years our entire offense was predicated on the fact that TJ was literally always open on slant routes.

Tonight we really missed Johnson.

The truth is that Tyler Johnson was the top WR last year and I said so at the time. Opposing defenses tilted their coverage to try to take Johnson away and it basically never worked.

Rashod is great, but this team isn’t used to Rashod being double teamed and put under the microscope the way he is now that TJ is gone.

Bateman will adjust to being the top dog and he will flourish.

But it’s also important that we find another WR who can consistently beat press coverage and get separation on slant routes.
