The MN Storm (MN Regional Training Center (RTC) team) is part of a 6 team RTC Cup at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, this weekend. 8 current and former Gophers are participating and the first match against the Cliff Keen RTC (MI) is at 5pm today on FloWrestling.com. This will be followed at 7pm by our second match against the Wolfpack RTC (NC State).

There will be a lot of really good matches, but the best might be Gable Steveson vs Mason Parris (MI) who he beat in the finals of the B1G Championship! Then Gable will take on Nick Gwiazdowski (NC State) the US Hwt Champion who beat Gable in some very close matches at the US Team Trials last year. If Gable has improved since then, and can beat Gwiz now, he will be in a good position to take over as the Hwt. on our US Olympic Team for 2021!!!

Tune in if you can, and I will be tweeting the action and results @Unlimited424 !!!
Everything starts in 10 minutes!!!

The Gopher Wrestling Club (GWC), Minnesota's regional training center, will compete at the 2020 RTC Cup at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, this weekend. The event will feature six of the top regional training centers in the country in a dual-meet format.

Junior Gable Steveson, the 2020 Big Ten Champion and two-time All-American, and sophomore Brayton Lee, a 2020 All-American, will be joined by Gopher alums Zach Sanders, Sean Russell, Mitch McKee, Brett Pfarr, Devin Skatzka and Tony Nelson. Rounding out the GWC roster are Evan Wick, Elroy Perkins and Hayden Zillmer.

Competition begins on Friday with pool play as the GWC will face the Cliff Keen Wrestling Club at 5 p.m. and the Wolfpack RTC at 7 p.m. Quarterfinals, semifinals and the placement matches will be held on Saturday beginning at Noon. The championship bout will take place at 7 p.m.

Highlighting Friday's action is the likely matchup between Steveson and Nick Gwiazdowski of the Wolfpack RTC. Gwiazdowski is a former two-time NCAA Champion at N.C. State (2014-15), as well as a two-time World bronze medalist (2017-18). He has also clinched the No. 1 seed at April's U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
