OPD77 ....who Prop Joe really is...

The thread I replied to your Prop Joe response is now locked as someone is not "in the know".

Prop Joe, just so you know, is a great guy. He is one of the DT originals and I won't use here to get into it, but honestly he is one of the genuinely great guys. i was messing around in my response. Prop Joe actually just got married to a beautiful and amazing better half just a few weeks ago.

Kendrick Green says three teams are standing out...

Peoria (Ill.) OL/DL Kendrick Green has already officially visited Minnesota and says that he will also take an official visit to both Iowa and UCF. The film out there on Green is fairly limited. I found some showcase film and he performed well in pass pro. Keeps a nice base, has a nice punch and really understand leverage. Didn't find any clips of him on defense unfortunately, but based on his statistics I would say he's every bit as solid of a player on that side of the ball.

Kendrick Green

This is from the Iowa site:

I spoke with Kendrick Green a little bit this morning after seeing a tweet from his account saying he's going to announce today. Green said that was one of his friends using his phone and playing a prank on him. No announcement scheduled today.

Right now, Green said he's still taking it day by day with his recruitment. He's not sure if he'll announce before the season is over or wait until after the playoffs.

As we mentioned last week, Brian Ferentz was in Peoria to watch Green play in person on Friday night. Green said afterwards he heard back that, "They told me I played awesome and with great energy."

(We are still hearing Iowa is the favorite here with Minnesota running second)

"Purdue must correct turnover disparity" Indianapolis Star

If Purdue plays to form, Brooks should get that TD for the 6th straight game.

The Penn State loss got out of hand when the Boilermakers reverted to their early season turnover trouble. On Saturday they travel to Minnesota, which ranks fourth nationally with a plus-10 turnover differential.

Purdue ranks last among Big Ten teams in turnover differential — and also ranks last in both turnovers and takeaways. Half of the team's takeaways came in the season opener against Eastern Kentucky.

Minnesota has outscored opponents 69-16 in points off turnovers. Purdue has been outscored 84-24 — scoring only three points off turnovers in the past seven weeks.

Tuesday evening coach notes

Jay Johnson today said Mark Williams is practicing but is not participating in contact drills. They'll determine his position in the spring. Johnson spoke highly of Green and said he's heard good reports of him as the scout team QB and that he's a high intellect guy.

Johnson named Eric Carter as the guy that will probably get the most reps with Brian Smith out. That's music to my ears as Carter brings a little different skill set than the others.

Sawvel spoke glowingly of Damarius Travis today. He said the defense was driving on three wheels without him and that he would have been worth two or three wins to the team last season.

Poore sounded pleased with the development of Johanneson and Femi-Cole. Repeatedly said how talented and competitive the running back group is.
