You guys, I'm genuinely becoming concerned that Kaler will hire Goetz

I guess I just didn't think that was a possibility. I thought Kaler understood that the next hire has to be about fundraising and focusing on the revenue sports, particularly football.

Now suddenly I'm not so sure. I know Doogie is usually wrong about things, but he's reporting that Goetz is the favorite and Sean Frazier is the other possibility.

I just can't fathom the fact that Kaler might be dumb enough to hire somebody without a big background in fundraising.

Somebody, talk me off the ledge. Please.

GI Recruiting Weekly

Here are some updates from guys who have recently spoken about their recruitment and what they had to say. It's becoming clearer which guys they are after out of state and which ones were either offered and are no longer being pursued, and maybe which of the guys out east who had coaches report offers that may not have been. Anyway, have a look. Minnesota guys, Lewis, and Washington/Wilson seem like the top guys on the list.

Final Rivals 2016 Basketball rankings?

Ryan, when does Rivals post the final rankings? (Or are the rankings that we see right now final?)

Coffey and Curry are significantly lower on Rivals than on some other sites. Coffey is top-40 in both the Scout and ESPN final rankings (still a bit underranked IMO, as I recall he was around top-25 before the injury), and Curry is a 4-star top-100 player on Scout. And Hurt -- whom IIRC was top-60 in Rivals at one point in the jr rankings -- is nowhere to be found in any of these lists despite a really good senior season. He could end up being the best all-around player we've had in years.

Have we changed the culture? Or do we throw players under the bus (like Mbakwe)?

The Reggie Lynch thing is nothing new. Happens all the time. 9 out of 10 times the allegation is false. Domestic assault is different; those allegations are often true. But these sexual assault allegations are almost always false. They even tried to get Kirby Puckett on this.

The good teams with rich tradition stand by their players. Unless there is real evidence that they are guilty. But so far, we don't know anything. Let's wait and see. And for gosh sakes, we shouldn't suspend him unless he's guilty. I'm tired of always throwing our players under the bus.
