Field of 64 and host site?

D1 baseball dot com currently has Minnesota in the field of 64 as a #1 seed and a host seed! How awesme would it be to host a regional?

Projected Minneapolis bracket:

1. Minnesota
2. TCU
3. Long Beach St.
4. Kent St.

for non college baseball followers, there are 16 regionals. The final 16 then compete in 8 2-team super regionals with the winners going to Omaha.

Gophers still have ten games left before the conference tournament. A huuuuuuge series against second place Indiana at Siebert this weekend, at last place Purdue next weekend, and finishing at home against OHio st. A mid-week game against SDSU as well. If you are looking for a time to go to see a game, this weekend is it. First vs second place and sunny 70 degree days. $8 for adults, $5 for kids.

I don't ever remember us being mentioned as a #1 seed and a host before though, even in early May.

2weeks left, who wins the conference championship?

With two weeks left, Indiana is 13-5 and Minnesota and Michigan are 12-5. Indiana has the head to head tiebreaker over Minnesota, Minnesota has the head to head tiebreaker over Michigan. Michigan and Indiana did not play in the regular season.

Indiana has Illinois (9-9) and at Nebraska (10-7) left on their schedule

Michigan has at Ohio St. (10-8) and at Illinois (9-9) left.

Minnesota has at Purdue (2-19) and Ohio St. (10-8) left.

Minnesota needs to find a way to sweep a bad Purdue team in West Lafayette. Ohio St., and Illinois will have a lot to say about who wins this years regular season title as well as their own chances of making it to the conference tournament. As the top 8 seeds make it to Omaha. Ohio St. is currently 6th, Illinois is 9th.

Troy Stoudermire signs with Vikes

Vikings list him as a receiver, and I think he played both ways in Winnipeg. Last year for Winnipeg, he recorded eight receptions, two carries, five tackles, one interception, and one punt return touchdown. He was the Blue Bombers' starting returner and averaged 10.1 yards per punt return and 20.5 yards per kick.

If I remember correctly, he came to the U as just an athlete, started out as a corner, then moved to receiver later in his freshman year, then switched back to corner as an upperclassman.

I've followed the whole Derby prep season and it should be quite a race today. Yes, we're all still spoiled from American Pharoah's legendary performance last year, and I think a lot of people are not giving Nyquist enough credit because they're still remembering AP.

Nyquist was the 2 year old champion last year and he is unbeaten this year. He can win from the lead or can close from behind, so if he gets a good, clean trip, I think he's the winner. There are two very strong extreme closers in the race that will make it very interesting: Exaggerator and Creator. Both have such amazing late speed that they can go from near last to winner in the last 1/4 to 1/3 of the race. So, can they run down Nyquist??

Or, will they all get blocked and slowed by the large field and we get an unexpected winner. There are a lot of very good horses in this race so that's completely possible!!

I've been watching the weather in Louisville and it's looking like there's a strong likelihood of rain during the race. According to The Weather Channel, there's a 90 percent chance of rain at the 6 p.m. hour, and a 60 percent chance at the 7 p.m. hours. Post time is set for 6:34 p.m.

So, which of the 20 horses like to run in slop??

Folks, with no football on, no NBA and a so-so PGA tournament, it's the best show in town!!!
Tune in on NBC.

Go Nyquist!!!

Help! NFL rube needs info (I am the rube)

Hey guys,

So here's the deal: It looks like I'm going to be interviewing for a writing
position at NFL network. The only problem? I stopped watching the NFL a decade ago.

You guys have any advice for boning up on my NFL knowledge? I'm a college football fanatic, but I only watch the NFL during the post season.

Anyway, I appreciate in advance any help you guys can give me. Thanks!

How would you rank yourself as a poster?

Using the "star" system. I'd give myself 3* based on:
1. "Likes" vs number of posts
2. Try not to blast individuals on disagreements
3. Try and add some levity
4. Although only important to few, try and do some updates on non- revenue sports
Weak points:
1.Never attach pics, or videos. Can't do, and to lazy to attempt
2. Very anal about recruiting. ( number of offers, total commitments vs other teams etc.)
3. Total disdain for professional sports. Absolutely hate the Vikings.Should be more tolerate of fans who like both the Gophers and Vikings.
4. Impatient at times about the lack of football information, updates by the Rivals, especially if posted on other sites.
Summary: Will.never reach 4 or 5 star status, but just happy to be involved with a great group of guys who all want the best for the Gophers.
