Tarawallie said that the Golden Gophers have been involved in his recruitment for about six months.

"It's great to have an offer from them," Tarawallie said. "I'm glad that they decided to give me a chance, especially since I'm so young and I'm hoping I can impress. I'd say we have been talking for about six months now. I really like the coaching staff and the recruiting staff and I've been talking to Coach Debo, he's a great guy."

Tarawallie said that he likes how genuine Coach Debo is and how much it feels like talking to a friend. He added that the Golden Gophers' coaching staff liked what they saw from his film.

"I just like how genuine he is," Tarawallie said. "It's not like you're talking to coach when talking to him. He's like one of my friends. And to my knowledge, they seem to like my film and what they saw from me."

Tarawallie said that he's certainly interested in the Golden Gophers' program as he has been on several visits already. With Minnesota being a great program, Tarawallie said that he's interested in going back.

"Yeah, I've had a couple of visits already, but I'd love to go on some more," Tarawallie said. "They have a really great program and I love the way they run things."

Tarawallie said that he's eager to meet some of the Golden Gophers' defensive linemen on his next visit to Minnesota. The in-state defensive talent added that he does not have any visits planned at the moment but is in the process of returning to Minnesota for another visit.

"I haven't really met any players but I would love to meet some of the defensive linemen," Tarawallie said. "And I have no visits planned but I'll probably get one soon or ask Coach Debo when they have an opening."

In addition to being offered by Minnesota, Tarawallie has also collected opportunities from Kansas and Iowa State.

Football Kickoff times

The Big Ten Conference announced today the start time for four Minnesota football games for the 2023 season. The games announced were Minnesota's first home games against Nebraska, Eastern Michigan and Louisiana. The kick time for Minnesota's road game at North Carolina was also announced.

The Gophers will kick off the 2023 season against Nebraska at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31 at Huntington Bank Stadium. The game will be broadcast by FOX and the network will also have a live on-site pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m. Minnesota leads the all-time series against Nebraska 36-25-2 and has won four straight games against the Cornhuskers.

The game against Nebraska will be Minnesota' Gold Out game and all Gopher fans are encouraged to wear Gold for the home opener.

Minnesota will host Eastern Michigan at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 on Big Ten Network. This will be the first-ever meeting between the Gophers and the Eagles.

The Gophers welcome Louisiana to campus for Homecoming on Saturday, Sept. 30. Minnesota and the Ragin' Cajuns will kick at 11 a.m. and television broadcast information will be announced in the future. Minnesota leads the all-time series 3-0, as the teams played in 2001, 2002 and 2003.

The Homecoming game against Louisiana will be Minnesota's annual Stripe the Bank game and fans are encouraged to wear either Maroon or Gold to the game depending on their section.

The lone road game that was announced today is Minnesota's nonconference tilt at North Carolina on Saturday, Sept. 16. That game will start at 2:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on either ESPN or ESPN2. This will be the first-ever meeting between the Gophers and the Tar Heels.

Football Ranking Minnesota's transfer portal picks up by impact for 2023

This was pretty hard honestly. A lot of these guys will make immediate impacts this fall. No.7 through No.3 could probably be ranked in any numerous ways. What do you guys think?

Football Recruiting ***MINNESOTA AMONG TOP 5 FOR WYATT GILMORE***

Rogers (Minn.) defensive end Wyatt Gilmore is clearly one of Minnesota's top priorities remaining in the 2024 class and on Sunday, the highly-touted, three-star prospect included the Gophers among his Top 5 schools along with Oklahoma, Miami, Oregon, and Kansas State.

Gilmore is plenty familiar with Minnesota and their program, having been a frequent visitor to campus in recent months. Just this year, he visited the Gophers for their Junior Day back in January and recently returned in April as well.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound prospect also visited Minnesota twice in the fall for the Colorado game in September and returning for a visit a day before the Penn State game.

Minnesota's offseason addition of defensive line assistant Winston DeLattiboudere has added a positive wrinkle in the Gophers' recruitment of the highly-touted defensive end.

"I love the culture, I love the coaching staff, it just seems like a great place to be," Gilmore recently told TGR. "I love Minneapolis, there is a lot of things to do there. It is in my home state, and that does add a lot. Overall I just think it's a great program. I think their development has been solid, but adding DeLattiboudere is going to change the way people see it."

"I love (P.J.) Fleck, his energy is just like DeLattiboudere, they're just high energy guys who know football and are good coaches."

It's clear Minnesota is currently in a great spot with Gilmore, who will embark on his official visits in June before making his college decision.
