GI Friends,
I've been thinking about David Bowie all week and about all the songs I really liked. I've lived through all of his recording years...and I know the albums from Hunky Dory (1971) through the early 80's (along with a couple others) very well. And, I think the best way for us to show our respect for David is by telling everyone what we really like about his music. So, please join in with me and tell me what you like! He is likely my all-time favorite!! So here it goes.
BTW, this a wide open thread. So you are welcome to post normally, or drunk (and a little bit sensible??), as you see fit!
I'm starting at Hunky Dory (when he still looked like a long haired hippie/folk singer) and going forwards:
David Bowie's seventh album "Pin Ups" came out in Oct. '73, after Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane, but the style of the music flows better just after Hunky Dory, before Bowie starts his "Glam years"...so I'm moving it up in my line-up. He does some great covers of current songs that he loves on this album...it's a real gem!! :
