Recapping the top performers on offense and defense for Minnesota in Saturday's 34-16 win over Maryland, according to Pro Football Focus analytics.
PFF Ratings Reference:
- 60-70 = average numbers for college
- 71-84 = above average to great starters
- 85+ is elite
Top Five Offensive Performers with at least 20 snaps:
Ko Kieft - 93.6
Axel Ruschmeyer - 88.4
Chris Autman-Bell - 76.1
Ky Thomas - 74.5
Blaise Andries - 72.9
- Ko Kieft continues his dominating season especially in the run blocking department.
- Slightly below average game for Conner Olson and Sam Schlueter, 53.3 and 53.0, respectively. Surprising considering the dominance that Minnesota showed up front in running the ball.
- Tanner Morgan with another positive performance (72.7 grade).
Top 5 Defensive Performers with at least 20 snaps:
Micah Dew-Treadway - 76.0
Nyles Pinckney - 69.7
Justin Walley - 69.6
Jack Gibbens - 68.6
Val Martin - 68.0
- Three of the top five grades on the team are DTs, and indication of how well this group is playing up front right now. Minnesota's rush defense has been tremendous this season.
- Justin Walley with an exceptional game while Terell Smith (49.0) and Phillip Howard (56.9) have slightly down games. Interesting to see if Walley becomes the full-time starter opposite of Durr at some point.
- Only 12 snaps, but an oddly poor game from Braelen Oliver (27.8 grade). Here's to hoping it was one bad game and he can turn it around next game.
