55 predicts another 50 piece. Its Breathing!

i know....I know! It might be too much for you nitwits to grasp, but now that it's official that our offense is breathing (THANK GOD) I'm predicting we drop another 50 piece Saturday. ESPN will take notice after this weekend. Leidner is legit and this ain't Kill's offense any more.

New era of Gopher Nation. Tim Brewster's vision finally comes to fruition. Peace!

PS- Hire a brotha this week and promote him for no reason. Why? Cause he's been through ALOT.

2020 HS football player to keep in mind

Riley Keller, a 6-1 180 lb FRESHMAN is the starting QB for the varsity at Toledo Whitmer.... As a 14 year old, he received his first football scholarship offer from University of Mississippi yesterday. His Dad is his offensive coordinator for the largest HS in the Toledo area. A good athlete and smart kid. Whitmer is the HS that recently produced Nigel Hayes(Wisconsin basketball), Ryan Smith(Purdue basketball and now an assistant basketball coach),Chris Wormley(starting DT at Michigan), and former Michigan Wolverine captain and starting TE Kevin Koger.

Perfecting a More Basic Offense?

Mitch said in a recent media session:

On his comfort level under Jay Johnson...
"One thing that makes me more comfortable with the offense is that, you know we’re not putting in brand new plays. We are changing up the motions in a formation and running certain formations with different guys, but it’s a lot of the same concepts, which as a quarterback I think helps because you know which throws to make against which coverages. Before that (last year) we’d but in ten new plays every Tuesday and had to learn to execute them in four days, so that’s a big change for us."

Ten new plays every week? That's a lot of new plays over a BIG season of 9 games!

Sure didn't sense that from Limey last year...seems like it was mostly RUTM and then throw it. If there were ten new plays in every week, very few were actually executed successfully imho.

Apparently Johnson wants a lean offense run at a high level of efficiency, productivity and perfection.

Will this approach simply too basic and predictable in the BIG as Limey/Kill discovered?

Obviously this strategy was wildly successful for years in Packerland with Vince Lombardi, but I wonder if it will work for the Gophers to get them were they want to be in terms of offensive production.

Holland reception or Coughlin sack...most likely to happen tomorrow?

The moment of truth for me that set the tone for Melvin Holland's career thus far was the drop against Colorado State last year. Remember it? Wide Open and lots of YAC room. I think it was on a 3rd down. That could have been his break out moment, but a drop instead. So I am looking for redemption tomorrow.

More likely to happen?

Holland reception.

Chime in.
